The BBO Team - Our Coaches & Consultants

Mark Jocumsen

Mark is our Managing Director. He grew up in Highfields (north of Toowoomba) and attended St Mary's College where he was Dux of his year. After completing a Manufacturing and Materials engineering degree at University of Queensland with First Class Honours, he enjoyed a successful management consulting career with consulting firms Accenture and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). He then worked for 6 years as the Systems Improvement manager at Smorgon Steel.

In 2006 he launched Better Business Outcomes in conjunction with his wife, Melanie. Being a small business owner himself, he can empathise with other small business owners and understand the problems you face.

Mark is our resident ProfiTune Accredited Coach. His main focus is delivering quality coaching to our clients. His strengths are listening closely to his clients, developing a solid understanding of your business very quickly, and always putting your needs first and foremost.

Mark also enjoys long distance running, indoor soccer, golf and being Dad to a young family.

Melanie Jocumsen

Mel grew up on a cattle property in Queensland’s Gulf Country and was first introduced to Toowoomba at boarding school. After university she spent 4 years working overseas and travelling the world. On her return to Australia she spent 5 years as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM before contracting independently for 2 years.

Mel’s primary focus is looking after our non-coaching clients. She also does copywriting work and is also responsible for BBO’s marketing. She is a qualified CPA and mum to a young family.

Cassandra Smith

Cass grew up in Brisbane and relocated to Toowoomba in 2000. She has 15 years experience as an Executive Personal Assistant within the legal and education fields in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Cass is Mark’s invaluable Executive Assistant and is also responsible for the day-to-day running of our office. She has a young family and plays an integral role in the business.
