We looked at coaching a few years ago - I was shocked at what you got for the price and the coaches we talked to were all seemed like rogues.
So we never did it.
Late last year, our business was going OK but we did have some issues and it was the right time to get coaching and a bit of a hand. We found Mark, talked to him, liked him and have been with him ever since.
The Business Analysis was extremely interesting - I did get some criticism thrown back on me which woke me up a bit. It also identified some key problems with employees and their positions which we are working on and have made so much better already.
Coaching with Mark is definitely good value. He’s not high-flying and ra-ra like others we get letters and emails from. He’s enthusiastic but he backs it up - he walks the talk.
We tackle problems as we go - he’s not scared to pull me back in line - and we get problems solved.
If you weren’t committed to coaching, you’d waste your money because you’ve got to follow through. Sometimes I find it hard to get the work done but deadlines are great.
A guy was in my office the other day while we were doing a coaching session and he said “gee it must be great to have a coach you can talk to” - and I said “Yeah, it’s great - I’ll miss him one day.” To me that sums it up - it’s a really good thing to do at this stage of growth.
